How do I add Kundli to my astrology app?
Send the birth date, time and place, and get the chart back as JSON — planets, houses, ascendant, dashas and the rest. Place lookup and timezone resolution are included on the same plan, so you are not paying Google separately to turn a city name into coordinates. Most teams have a working kundli screen inside a day.
What is the best Vedic astrology API for Jyotish work?
The one that covers more than one school. Four are here, each with its own endpoints and all sharing one JSON contract: Parashari, Krishnamurti Paddhati, Jaimini and Lal Kitab, with Panchang and Varshphal covered separately. Around 190 endpoints on the Vedic side alone, grouped into kundli, divisional charts, dashas, yogas and doshas, predictions, matchmaking, shadbala, ashtakvarga and more.
Is there a kundli matching API for a matrimony site?
Yes — the full 36-point Ashtakoot across all eight kootas, with each koota returning both parties' values, the score, and dosha flags. Dashakoot, the South Indian Porutham system, runs as a separate calculation alongside Mangal Dosha and papasamya. There is a written matching report too, if you would rather hand members a PDF than a number.
Does the API detect Manglik, Kalsarpa and Sade Sati dosha?
Yes — Manglik, Kalsarpa, Sade Sati, Pitru and Grahan, each as three endpoints rather than one: status, a written analysis, and remedies. So you can show what is running, what it means, and what to do about it, which is what a user actually wants after being told they have a dosha.
Which dasha systems does the API calculate?
Vimshottari and Yogini, each down to five levels — Mahadasha, Antardasha, Pratyantardasha, Sookshma and Pran — plus Jaimini Chara Dasha to the same depth. Every level comes back with exact start and end timestamps, not just period names.
Which ayanamsa does the API use — Lahiri or another?
Lahiri, or Chitrapaksha, by default, and KP endpoints resolve to the Krishnamurti ayanamsa as they should. Forty-four ayanamsas are available in total, chosen with a request parameter, and the resolved name and value come back in the meta block of every response — so there is never any doubt about which one produced a chart.
Can I generate divisional charts — D9 Navamsa, D10 Dashamsa?
Yes — D1 Rashi through D60 Shashtiamsa, all sixteen standard vargas, with dignities, varga planets, and chart images in both North and South Indian styles.
Does the API return predictions, or only calculations?
Both. Sixteen prediction endpoints return interpretation text written by an astrologer and versioned, alongside the calculation. That matters more than it sounds: a chart of numbers is a developer's output, and a reading is a product.
Does it include Lal Kitab remedies?
Yes — fourteen Lal Kitab endpoints: the Tewa chart, planet status in the Lal Kitab house, the five debts or rina, yogas, remedial measures, and Lal Kitab Varshphal with its own predictions. It is the tradition users ask for by name when they want something practical to do.
Can I put my own brand on the output?
Yes. Nothing in a response identifies us, and the written reports carry your name, tagline, website and logo on every page. Your users see your product.
How accurate are the calculations?
Planetary longitudes are computed to fractions of an arc-second and returned as decimals and DMS, from the Swiss Ephemeris — what professional astrology software runs on. Dasha endpoints return exact start and end timestamps at every level, and historical daylight saving is applied automatically from the date and place. An experienced astrologer will check a chart against their own software within minutes of trying you, which is why this is not a place to economise.
